API Integration and Development Services

Reliable, secure APIs and integrations that let your website, apps and business systems exchange data automatically, without manual copying or errors.

How Modern Software Talks to Each Other

An API, or application programming interface, is a defined way for one piece of software to request data or actions from another. When a website shows live shipping rates, takes a payment, checks stock in a warehouse system, sends an SMS confirmation or displays reviews from another platform, an API is doing the work behind the scenes. APIs are how modern software systems cooperate.

API work falls into two broad areas. API integration means connecting your website or application to an existing API provided by another service, such as a payment gateway, courier, CRM, accounting package or messaging platform. API development means building your own API so that other systems, mobile apps or partners can securely access your data and functions. Many projects involve both.

ViV Softech Solution is a website designing and digital marketing agency based in Delhi. Our developers design, build and maintain APIs and integrations for businesses across India. This page focuses on the technical side of that work: how we approach integration architecture, authentication and security, error handling and reliability, API design for your own systems, documentation and testing, and the factors that affect cost and timeline. If you are mainly looking to connect familiar business tools such as a CRM or accounting package to your website, our third-party software integration page covers that from a business perspective.

What We Build

Third-Party API Integrations

Connections to payment, shipping, messaging, mapping, CRM, ERP and marketing platform APIs.

Custom REST APIs

Well-designed APIs that expose your data and functions securely to apps, partners or other systems.

WordPress REST API Extensions

Custom endpoints that let mobile apps, front ends or external tools read and write WordPress data.

Webhooks and Event Handling

Receiving and sending real-time notifications when payments complete, orders ship or records change.

Middleware and Data Sync

Services that transform and synchronise data between systems with different formats.

Integration Audits and Fixes

Diagnosing failing, slow or insecure integrations and making them dependable.

Integration Architecture: Choosing the Right Pattern

Not every integration should work the same way. Choosing the right pattern affects speed, reliability and cost.

Real-time requests

The website calls an API at the moment it needs data, such as calculating a shipping rate during checkout. This gives up-to-date results but depends on the other service being available and fast, so we add timeouts, fallbacks and caching where suitable.

Webhooks

Instead of repeatedly asking whether something has changed, your system receives a notification when an event happens, such as a successful payment. Webhooks are efficient and timely, but they must be verified and processed safely, including handling duplicate or out-of-order messages.

Scheduled synchronisation

Data is exchanged at regular intervals, for example every fifteen minutes or nightly. This suits large data sets such as product catalogues or price lists and reduces dependence on the other system’s real-time availability.

Queued processing

Tasks such as sending data to a CRM are placed in a queue and processed in the background, so visitors are not kept waiting and failed tasks can be retried automatically.

We recommend the simplest pattern that meets your needs, and often combine them, for example real-time stock checks at checkout plus a nightly full catalogue sync.

Authentication and Security

Secure authentication

We implement the authentication method each API requires, including API keys, OAuth flows and signed tokens, and for your own APIs we choose an approach suited to who will use them.

Secrets kept secret

API keys and credentials are stored in protected configuration, never in public code, browser scripts or version control.

Least privilege

Each integration receives only the permissions it needs. A system that only reads orders should not be able to delete customers.

Encrypted transport

All API traffic uses HTTPS so data cannot be read or altered in transit.

Webhook verification

Incoming webhooks are checked against signatures or secrets so that fake requests are rejected.

Input validation

Data received from any API is validated before it is stored or displayed, just as we treat form input.

Rate limiting

Your own APIs can limit request rates to protect against abuse and accidental overload.

Sensitive data handling

We avoid storing payment card details on your servers, using gateway tokenisation instead, and minimise storage of personal data.

Reliability: Planning for When Things Go Wrong

External services occasionally slow down, change, or go offline. A well-built integration expects this and handles it gracefully instead of breaking your website.

  • Timeouts: requests that take too long are stopped so pages do not hang.
  • Retries with back-off: temporary failures are retried after increasing delays.
  • Idempotency: repeated requests, such as a webhook delivered twice, do not create duplicate orders or charges.
  • Fallbacks: sensible behaviour when a service is unavailable, such as a default shipping rate or a message asking customers to try again.
  • Logging: requests, responses and errors are logged, with sensitive data masked, so problems can be diagnosed quickly.
  • Alerts: important failures can notify your team by email or another channel.
  • Version awareness: we track API versions and deprecation notices so integrations can be updated before providers switch off old versions.

Designing Your Own API

If you need a mobile app, a partner, or another internal system to access your data, a well-designed API is a long-term asset. Poorly designed APIs are hard to use, hard to change and risky to expose. We follow established principles:

  • Consistent, resource-based URLs and standard HTTP methods for reading, creating, updating and deleting data.
  • Predictable responses in JSON, with consistent field naming and structure.
  • Meaningful status codes and error messages that help developers understand what went wrong.
  • Pagination, filtering and sorting for large collections.
  • Versioning so future changes do not break existing apps.
  • Authentication and permissions appropriate to each consumer.
  • Clear documentation with example requests and responses.

For WordPress websites, we often extend the built-in REST API with custom endpoints rather than creating a separate system, which keeps your content and API in one place.

Common Integration Projects

  • Payment gateways for online payments, subscriptions and refunds
  • Courier and logistics APIs for rates, shipment creation and tracking
  • SMS, email and WhatsApp Business messaging for notifications
  • CRM platforms for leads and customer records
  • Accounting and invoicing software for orders and invoices
  • Inventory and ERP systems for stock and pricing
  • Mapping and location services for store finders and delivery areas
  • Calendar and scheduling tools for bookings
  • Marketing and analytics platforms for events and audiences
  • Mobile app back ends serving content and user data

Feasibility always depends on what the other platform’s API allows. We review documentation and test access before committing to a specific outcome.

Our Process

1. Requirements: we document which data moves where, how often and what should happen on failure. 2. API review: we study the documentation, limits and authentication of each system and confirm access. 3. Design: we choose the integration pattern and data mapping and agree it with you. 4. Build: we develop on staging with sandbox or test accounts wherever providers offer them. 5. Test: we test normal cases, edge cases, failures and security. 6. Deploy: we release with monitoring and a rollback plan. 7. Document and support: we document the integration and offer maintenance as APIs evolve.

What Affects Cost and Timeline

  • Number of systems and data flows: each connection and direction adds work.
  • API quality: clear documentation and sandbox environments speed development; limited documentation slows it.
  • Data mapping complexity: transforming data between very different formats takes more effort.
  • Real-time requirements: live, two-way sync is more complex than one-way scheduled transfers.
  • Security and compliance needs: sensitive data requires additional safeguards.
  • Volume: high request volumes need queues, caching and performance tuning.
  • Third-party fees: some providers charge for API access, which is separate from our fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a connection that lets your website or system exchange data automatically with another service through that service’s API.

Only software that provides an API, webhook or data export. We check feasibility and limits before quoting.

We build timeouts, retries, fallbacks and logging so your website behaves sensibly and data can be resent when the service recovers.

Yes. We design and build secure APIs, including custom WordPress REST endpoints, for mobile apps and other clients.

Usually yes. Providers update APIs and retire old versions, so periodic updates are needed. We offer maintenance support.

No. We use payment gateway tokenisation and hosted fields so card details are handled by the payment provider.
