Google Ads Account Setup and Audit

Start with an account you own and can trust, or find out exactly what is working and what is wasting money in the account you already run.

The Foundation Everything Else Depends On

A Google Ads account is more than a place to create ads. It holds your billing, your conversion data, your audience lists, years of performance history and the learning that automated bidding depends on. When an account is set up hastily, problems tend to surface later: the business discovers that a former agency or freelancer owns the account, conversion tracking counts page views as leads, campaigns use broad settings that show ads in irrelevant places, or the structure makes it impossible to see which services are profitable. Fixing these issues after months of spending is harder than getting them right at the start.

Equally, many businesses already run Google Ads but are unsure whether their account is performing well. Spend keeps rising, leads feel inconsistent, reports show impressive click numbers but sales do not follow, or nobody is quite sure what the automated recommendations have changed. An independent audit looks at the account systematically and explains, in plain language, what is working, what is wasting budget, what is risky and what should be prioritised.

ViV Softech Solution is a website designing and digital marketing agency based in Delhi. We set up new Google Ads accounts correctly and audit existing ones for businesses across India. This page explains account ownership and access, what a proper setup includes, what our audit reviews, how findings are reported, and what affects cost. An audit does not guarantee particular results after changes are made, but it gives you a clear, evidence-based picture to act on.

Two Services, One Goal

New Account Setup

For businesses starting with Google Ads or starting fresh: ownership, billing, tracking, linked tools, structure and first campaigns set up properly from day one.

Existing Account Audit

For businesses already advertising: a structured review of settings, tracking, structure, keywords, ads, bidding and spend, with a prioritised action plan.

Account Ownership and Access

We believe your business should own its Google Ads account. That means the account is created under, or transferred to, a Google account your business controls, with a senior person in your organisation holding administrative access. Agencies, including us, should be given access through user invitations or a manager account link, which you can remove at any time. This way, if you ever change agencies or bring advertising in-house, you keep your account history, conversion data and audience lists.

During an audit, we also review who currently has access, at what level, and whether former staff, agencies or freelancers still hold admin rights they no longer need. We check that billing is in your business name with the correct details for tax invoices, that advertiser verification is complete or in progress where Google has requested it, and that two-step verification is used to protect the account. Removing unnecessary access is a quick, important security step.

What a Proper Setup Includes

Ownership and Billing

Account in your name, correct billing and tax details, secure access levels.

Conversion Tracking

Meaningful actions such as enquiries, calls and purchases tracked accurately.

Linked Tools

Google Analytics 4, Merchant Center, Business Profile and YouTube linked where relevant.

Logical Structure

Campaigns organised by service, location or goal so budgets and results are clear.

Sensible Settings

Networks, locations, languages and schedules chosen deliberately, not left on defaults.

Negative Keywords

Shared lists to block irrelevant searches from the start.

Setup in Detail

Goals and measurement

We agree what counts as a conversion for your business, how leads will be judged for quality, and how results will be reported, before any ads run.

Tracking implementation

Google tag or Google Tag Manager setup for form submissions, calls, WhatsApp clicks or purchases, with consent considerations and testing.

Keyword research

Research into how your customers search, with match types and negatives chosen to balance reach and relevance.

Campaign and ad group build

Tightly themed ad groups, responsive search ads with accurate, specific messaging, and relevant assets such as sitelinks and call assets.

Bidding and budget

A bidding approach suited to your conversion volume, often starting simpler and moving to automated strategies as data grows.

Landing page check

A review of the pages ads will send people to, since relevance and usability affect both Quality Score and conversion rates.

What Our Audit Reviews

Tracking and data

Whether conversions are recorded correctly, duplicated or inflated, whether primary and secondary conversion actions are set sensibly, whether values are assigned where useful, and whether enhanced conversions or offline imports would help. Unreliable tracking misleads every other decision, so we review it first.

Account and campaign settings

Location targeting options, such as presence versus interest, network inclusion like Search Partners and Display on search campaigns, language, ad schedules, devices, and auto-applied recommendations that may have changed the account without close review.

Structure

Whether campaigns and ad groups are organised logically, whether budgets are split in a way that reflects priorities, and whether overlapping campaigns are competing with each other.

Keywords and search terms

Search term reports to find irrelevant queries consuming spend, missing negatives, match type use, keyword conflicts and opportunities from converting terms not yet targeted.

Ads and assets

Ad relevance, message accuracy, ad strength as one signal among others, asset coverage, pinning choices and any disapproved or limited items.

Bidding, budgets and Quality Score

Whether the bidding strategy suits the data available, whether campaigns are limited by budget or rank, impression share losses, and Quality Score components that point to ad or landing page issues.

Policies and account health

Policy warnings, disapprovals, verification status and any patterns that could put the account at risk.

Common Issues We Look For

Accounts often show similar patterns. Conversion actions sometimes count every page view or button click as a lead, making performance look far better than reality. Search campaigns may be opted into the Display Network, spending on placements that rarely convert. Location settings may include people merely interested in a location rather than located there. Broad match keywords without smart bidding or negatives can match loosely related searches. Several campaigns may target the same keywords, making results hard to interpret. Auto-applied recommendations may have added keywords or changed bidding. Ads may make claims that no longer match your offer, and landing pages may be slow or unrelated to the ad. None of these issues is unusual, and identifying them clearly is the first step to fixing them.

How Findings Are Reported

Prioritised Actions

Findings ranked by likely impact and effort, so the most important fixes come first.

Plain Language

Clear explanations of each issue and why it matters, without unnecessary jargon.

Evidence Shown

Screenshots, data and examples so you can verify each finding yourself.

After the audit, you can implement the changes in-house, ask your current agency to do so, or engage us. There is no obligation to continue with us, and we aim to make the report useful whichever route you choose.

What We Need From You

For a setup, we need your business details, the services or products to promote, target locations, your website access or a developer contact for tracking, and a person with authority to create or own the account and add billing. For an audit, we need read-only or standard access to Google Ads, and ideally access to Google Analytics 4 and an understanding of what a good lead or sale looks like for you, including any CRM or sales data you can share. Real business outcomes help us judge whether reported conversions reflect genuine results. Read-only access is enough for an audit, so no changes are made without your approval.

Our Process

We learn about your business, goals, past advertising and how leads or sales are handled.

We confirm ownership and request appropriate access, read-only for audits.

For audits, we review tracking, settings, structure, keywords, ads, bidding and policies. For setups, we build the account and first campaigns.

We share findings with priorities, or walk you through the new account and its tracking.

You choose whether to implement changes yourself or engage ongoing management.

What Affects Cost

  • Account size and complexity: number of campaigns, ad groups and channels.
  • Tracking work: whether conversion tracking needs to be built or fixed.
  • Depth of audit: a focused health check or a detailed review.
  • Number of locations and services covered.
  • Implementation: whether we also carry out the recommended changes.

Ad spend is paid directly to Google and is separate from our fees.
