Amazon Ads Management

Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display campaigns for sellers and brands on Amazon.in, managed with a focus on profitable sales rather than spend for its own sake.

Advertising Where Shoppers Are Ready to Buy

Amazon is one of the largest online marketplaces in India, and many shoppers begin product searches there rather than on a search engine. When someone types a product into Amazon’s search bar, they are usually close to buying. Amazon Ads lets sellers and brands place their products in front of these shoppers, in search results, on product detail pages and across Amazon’s network. For many marketplace sellers, advertising has become essential: organic rankings on Amazon are influenced by sales velocity, so new products in particular can struggle to gain visibility without sponsored placements.

Amazon advertising works differently from Google or Meta. Ads drive traffic to your Amazon listing, not your own website, so the listing’s quality, price, reviews, delivery promise and Buy Box status all affect results. Costs are charged per click, and the key efficiency metrics are advertising cost of sales, known as ACoS, and total advertising cost of sales, known as TACoS, which compares ad spend with all sales, including organic. Profitability depends on your margins after Amazon’s referral fees, fulfilment costs, returns and taxes, so a campaign that looks good on ACoS alone can still lose money.

ViV Softech Solution is a website designing and digital marketing agency in Delhi. Selling strategy beyond advertising is covered under ecommerce growth.

Listings Come Before Ads

Advertising sends shoppers to your product detail page, so a weak listing wastes ad spend. Before scaling campaigns, we review the essentials: a clear, keyword-relevant title within Amazon’s guidelines; high-quality images showing the product from several angles and in use; bullet points that explain benefits and answer common questions; a detailed description or A+ Content for brand-registered sellers; accurate specifications; competitive pricing; and a delivery promise that matches shopper expectations, which often depends on fulfilment method.

Reviews and ratings strongly influence conversion. New products with few or no reviews convert less well, which affects advertising efficiency. Reviews must be earned legitimately; incentivised or fake reviews violate Amazon’s policies and can lead to account suspension, and we never arrange them. Winning the Buy Box is also important, as ads typically only show for offers that hold it. We flag listing issues and recommend fixes so advertising has the best chance of producing profitable sales.

Campaign Types

Sponsored Products

The foundation for most sellers. Ads for individual products appearing in search results and on product pages, targeted by keywords or products and categories, with automatic or manual targeting.

Sponsored Brands

Available to brand-registered sellers. Ads featuring your logo, a headline and several products, or a video, often at the top of search results, linking to your Brand Store or a product page.

Sponsored Display

Ads that target shoppers based on products they viewed or audiences, appearing on Amazon and, in some cases, on third-party sites and apps.

Amazon also offers its demand-side platform for programmatic display and video, and other formats such as Amazon streaming placements in some markets, generally for larger budgets. Eligibility for some ad types depends on brand registration, category and seller status, and Amazon updates features regularly.

Keyword and Targeting Strategy

A common and effective structure starts with automatic campaigns, where Amazon matches your ads to relevant searches and products, alongside manual campaigns with keywords you choose. Search term reports from automatic and broad campaigns reveal which customer searches lead to sales. Converting terms are moved into manual exact match campaigns where bids can be controlled precisely, while irrelevant or unprofitable terms are added as negative keywords. This process, often called keyword harvesting, steadily improves efficiency. Product targeting lets you show ads on specific competitor or complementary product pages, or within categories, refined by price, rating or brand. Branded keywords for your own brand can protect your listings from competitors bidding on your name, while competitor-term targeting needs careful evaluation because conversion rates are usually lower. We also consider how campaigns are grouped, typically by product or product family, so budgets and performance are easy to manage.

Bidding, Budgets and Placements

Amazon offers bidding strategies such as fixed bids and dynamic bids that adjust up or down based on the likelihood of conversion, plus placement adjustments that increase bids for top-of-search or product page positions. We choose strategies based on each campaign’s purpose and data, adjust bids regularly based on performance, and avoid making large changes too often, since performance needs time to settle.

Budgets should be enough for important campaigns to run through the day, as campaigns that run out of budget early miss sales. During major sale events and festive periods, competition and traffic rise sharply, so we plan budgets and bids ahead of these periods and monitor closely. Dayparting, where available through tools or rules, can focus spend on hours that convert best.

ACoS, TACoS and Profitability

ACoS

Ad spend divided by ad-attributed sales, showing campaign efficiency.

TACoS

Ad spend divided by total sales, showing advertising’s role in overall growth.

Break-Even ACoS

The ACoS at which you neither gain nor lose, based on your margin after fees.

We calculate a break-even ACoS for each product using your selling price, product cost, Amazon fees, fulfilment, returns and taxes, then set targets depending on goals. A new product launch may accept a higher ACoS temporarily to build sales history and reviews, while mature products usually aim for profitable efficiency. Watching TACoS over time shows whether advertising is helping organic sales grow or merely buying sales that would happen anyway.

Brand Features for Registered Sellers

Sellers enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, which typically requires a registered or pending trademark, gain access to features that help advertising perform: Sponsored Brands ads, A+ Content for richer product descriptions, a Brand Store with multiple pages, brand analytics reports showing search terms and market insights, and tools to report listing violations. For businesses building a brand rather than reselling, Brand Registry is usually worth pursuing. A well-designed Brand Store gives Sponsored Brands ads a better destination and helps shoppers explore your range. We can help plan Brand Store structure and A+ Content, and coordinate design through our branding and design team. Trademark registration itself should be handled by a qualified trademark attorney or agent.
