Product Feed Optimization

Clean, complete and well-structured product feeds for Google Merchant Center, Meta catalogues and other channels, so your products are approved, matched and shown to the right shoppers.

Your Feed Decides Where Products Can Appear

Shopping ads, free product listings on Google, dynamic product ads on Facebook and Instagram, and many comparison and affiliate platforms do not read your website the way a shopper does. Instead, they rely on a product feed: a structured data file listing every product with attributes such as title, description, price, availability, images, brand, category, identifiers and variants. If the feed is incomplete, inaccurate or poorly written, products may be rejected, shown for irrelevant searches, or not shown at all, no matter how good your campaigns or bids are.

Most store platforms can generate a basic feed automatically, but default feeds are rarely optimised. Titles are often copied from website product names that are too short or too vague for search matching, important attributes such as colour, size, material or gender are missing, product categories are generic, identifiers such as GTINs are absent, images may include text overlays that break policies, and prices or stock levels can fall out of sync with the website. Feed optimisation fixes these issues systematically, improving approval rates, relevance and visibility.

ViV Softech Solution is a website designing and digital marketing agency in Delhi, and we optimise product feeds for online stores across India as part of our ecommerce marketing services. Feed work supports Shopping ads campaigns for online stores and Google Shopping Ads management, and Meta catalogue campaigns run through our Meta Ads management.

Fixing Disapprovals and Feed Errors

Merchant Center’s diagnostics show which products are disapproved or limited, and why. Common issues include price mismatches between feed and landing page, missing or invalid GTINs, images that are too small or contain promotional overlays, unavailable landing pages, missing shipping information, incorrect availability, and policy issues in particular categories. We investigate each issue at its source, whether in the store, the feed plugin or app, or the product data itself.

Some problems are systemic, such as structured data on product pages that conflicts with the feed, tax or shipping settings configured incorrectly, or caching that shows outdated prices. Fixing these at the root prevents the same errors returning. Policy-related disapprovals require care; we review the relevant policy and adjust content honestly rather than trying to work around rules, which risks account suspension.

Optimising Titles, Attributes and Categories

In Shopping and catalogue-based advertising there are no keywords to bid on; platforms decide which searches to show your products for mainly using the information in your feed. Product titles carry the most weight, so they deserve the most attention. A website product name such as Aurora might be fine for your store design, but it tells Google nothing. An optimised feed title follows a structure suited to the category, typically including brand, product type, key attributes such as material, colour, size, gender or model, and a distinguishing feature, with the most important words placed first because titles are often truncated on mobile. For example, a title might move from a short name to something like brand, women’s cotton kurta, straight fit, navy blue, size M. Different categories benefit from different title formulas: electronics emphasise model numbers and specifications, fashion emphasises gender, fit, fabric and colour, home goods emphasise dimensions and materials. Descriptions are expanded with useful details in plain language, without promotional text such as free shipping or sale messages, which policies typically prohibit. Attributes are completed wherever relevant: colour, size, material, pattern, age group, gender, condition, product highlights and product details, along with variant grouping through item group IDs so sizes and colours are linked correctly. Google product category and your own product type hierarchy help platforms understand what each item is and help campaign managers organise campaigns. Identifiers such as GTIN barcodes are supplied when products have them, since they help match products with searches and comparisons; for handmade or custom products without GTINs, the correct identifier settings are used. We base all enhancements on accurate information about your products, never adding attributes or claims that are not true. Search-related changes are tested and reviewed, because improved feed data can broaden reach and should be monitored alongside campaign performance.

Channels That Use Product Feeds

Google Shopping ads

Standard Shopping and Performance Max.

Google free listings

Unpaid product listings across Google surfaces.

Meta catalogues

Dynamic ads and shops on Facebook and Instagram.

WhatsApp catalogues

Product catalogues connected through Meta Commerce.

Microsoft Advertising

Shopping campaigns on Bing.

Other platforms

Comparison and affiliate networks where relevant.

Each channel has slightly different specifications, so a master feed may be adapted for each destination using feed rules or supplemental feeds.

Tools, Plugins and Feed Management

For WooCommerce stores, feed plugins can generate and update feeds automatically, with fields mapped from product data and custom attributes. Shopify stores typically use Google and Meta channel apps or dedicated feed apps. Custom stores may need a developer-built feed endpoint. We choose and configure tools that suit your platform and catalogue size, keeping costs proportionate.

Supplemental feeds and Merchant Center rules let us improve titles, add custom labels and fill gaps without changing your website’s product names. Custom labels, such as margin band, season or best-seller status, help campaign managers prioritise products. Scheduled fetches keep prices and stock synchronised. Underlying catalogue clean-up is covered by product uploads and catalogue management.
