SSL Certificate Installation

Secure your website with HTTPS, remove browser warnings and protect visitor data, with the right certificate installed, renewed automatically and configured correctly.

HTTPS Is No Longer Optional

An SSL certificate, more accurately a TLS certificate, encrypts the connection between your website and its visitors, protecting information such as contact form submissions, login details and payment data from being intercepted. It also verifies that visitors are connected to your genuine website. Modern browsers clearly label websites without HTTPS as Not Secure, which immediately undermines trust, especially on pages with forms. Google treats HTTPS as a ranking signal, payment gateways and many third-party services require it, and some modern browser features only work on secure sites.

Although free certificates are now widely available, SSL problems remain common. Certificates expire unnoticed and suddenly display alarming warnings to every visitor. Websites load over both HTTP and HTTPS, creating duplicate versions. Pages show padlock warnings because images, scripts or fonts still load insecurely, a problem called mixed content. Certificates cover the main domain but not the www version or subdomains. Proper installation and configuration avoid these issues and keep your website secure and trustworthy.

ViV Softech Solution is a website designing and digital marketing agency in Delhi, and we install and configure SSL certificates for websites across India as part of our website security services. Broader protection is covered by website security hardening, and the SEO side of HTTPS by HTTPS and mixed content checks.

Choosing the Right Certificate

For most business websites, a free domain-validated certificate from Let’s Encrypt or your host provides the same encryption strength as paid certificates and is perfectly suitable. Wildcard certificates cover all subdomains of a domain, such as shop, blog or app subdomains, and multi-domain certificates cover several different domains under one certificate.

Paid organisation-validated or extended-validation certificates involve additional verification of your business and may be required by some enterprise clients, government projects or compliance frameworks, though browsers no longer display extended validation prominently. We recommend the certificate type that genuinely meets your needs, avoiding unnecessary costs. Paid certificate fees are billed by the issuing authority or reseller.

Installing and Configuring HTTPS Correctly

Installing a certificate is only the first step; configuring the website to use HTTPS properly is what prevents problems. We install the certificate using the method appropriate to your hosting: the control panel’s SSL tools on shared hosting, Certbot or panel integrations on a VPS, platform settings on managed cloud hosting, or edge certificates when your site uses a CDN such as Cloudflare, ensuring the connection between the CDN and your server is also encrypted with the correct mode. We confirm the certificate covers every hostname your site uses, including both www and non-www versions. Next, we set up permanent redirects so all HTTP requests go to HTTPS and all variations resolve to a single preferred address, avoiding duplicate versions and redirect chains. For WordPress and other content management systems, site URLs are updated in settings, and database references to old HTTP addresses for images, links and embedded content are replaced carefully using safe search-and-replace methods that respect serialised data. Mixed content is identified by crawling the site and checking browser console warnings, and fixed by updating hard-coded links in themes, plugins, page builder content and custom code, or by replacing third-party resources that do not support HTTPS. We verify that forms, payment pages, logins and integrations continue working after the switch. Auto-renewal is configured and tested, because free certificates typically last about ninety days, and monitoring alerts us or your team before expiry if renewal fails. Where appropriate, we enable HTTP Strict Transport Security to instruct browsers to always use HTTPS, introduced carefully because it is difficult to reverse. Finally, we update Google Search Console, analytics settings, sitemaps and canonical tags to reflect the HTTPS version, protecting search visibility during the transition.

HTTPS for Email, Subdomains and Applications

Many businesses run subdomains for stores, blogs, client portals, booking systems or staging sites, each needing valid certificates. Web applications and APIs also require HTTPS, especially when handling logins or personal data. We include these in the certificate plan so nothing is left insecure.

Mail servers hosted on your own infrastructure may also need certificates for secure email connections, though most businesses use dedicated email services that manage this. Hosting setup is covered by website hosting services, and ongoing monitoring by website uptime monitoring.
