We begin with the master facts: official business name, any former names, current and past addresses, phone numbers, email, website, owner names, categories, opening hours, services and brand assets. We confirm these with you, because the audit measures everything else against them. Then we search. We search Google and Google Maps using the business name, each phone number, the address, the website domain and variations of the name. We search Apple Maps, Bing Places, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, WhatsApp Business, Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMART, TradeIndia, industry directories, review sites, government or association registers and data aggregators that supply other sites. We also use citation tools where helpful and manual checks for local sites. For each listing found, we record the platform, URL, listing name, address, phone, website link, categories, hours, description, photos, review count, rating, claimed status, last update and any duplicates. We then compare each field to the master facts and mark it as match, minor difference, major difference or missing. A wrong phone number is major; an abbreviated street name is minor. We grade each platform for importance, based on its visibility in search, its audience in your market and its role in feeding other sites. Google, Apple, Bing, Facebook and key local directories rank highest. We also check ownership: whether you hold the login, whether staff or a former agency does, and whether anyone else could edit. Lost access is a risk, so we list recovery steps. We identify duplicates and suspicious or spam listings that use your name, and we note listings for former locations still shown as open. We analyse gaps: platforms relevant to your sector and city where you are not listed. We review the quality of listings, such as whether photos are current, the description is complete, and links point to useful pages. We check how listings look on mobile search results and maps, since that is what many customers see. We compile the findings in a clear report and spreadsheet: a summary with scores, a list of every listing with its status, the issues ranked by importance and effort, and recommended next steps with time estimates. We present the report in a short call if you wish. The audit stops there unless you ask for corrections, which are covered in local citation consistency and business profile consistency. We cannot see private or unindexed listings, and some platforms limit what can be viewed without an account, so we state any limits in the report. We also cannot promise ranking changes from corrections, but the audit shows exactly where confusion and risk lie. For the NAP-specific view, see business NAP consistency.
