Business Description Writing

Clear, accurate descriptions of your business for Google, directories and social pages, written in the right lengths.

Two Hundred Words That Introduce You Everywhere

The short description under your name on Google, a directory or a social page is often the first thing a stranger reads. Too many are copied from the website, stuffed with keywords, left blank or different on every platform. A good description says plainly who you are, what you do, where and for whom.

ViV Softech Solution, a website designing and digital marketing agency in Delhi, writes these within our business profile services.

This page is about writing the description text. Setting up the whole profile is Google Business Profile setup and optimization, choosing categories is business category and service configuration, and website copy is separate from this short-form profile text.

Accurate and Within the Rules

Every statement is checked with you. We never write unverified awards, “best” claims, prices or offers, and we follow each platform’s content rules.

Platforms limit links, phone numbers, promotions and capital letters in descriptions. We write within those limits, and a good description does not guarantee ranking.

How We Write Business Descriptions

We start with a short interview or questionnaire. What do you do, for whom, and where? How long have you been operating? What makes customers choose you, in their words rather than slogans? Which services bring most business, and which would you like more of? Who are you not for? We also read your website, existing profiles and customer reviews to learn the phrases customers use. Then we collect the facts that must be exact: legal and trade name, address, service area, hours, languages, specialities, years in business and any real credentials that you can prove. We find the words people search for, using local keyword research, so the description includes the main service and place in natural sentences; see local search keyword research. We aim to use each key phrase once or twice and never to list cities or keywords in a row. Next we write a core description of about one hundred and fifty words that works on its own. It begins with a clear opening line saying who you are and what you do, then describes the main services, who you serve and where, what customers can expect and how to reach you in a way that suits each platform. From this core we make versions: a short tagline under one hundred and fifty characters, a medium version of about three hundred characters, a long version for directories that allow more and a profile-specific version for Google that fits within its limit and avoids content Google restricts, such as links and promotional wording. We adapt tone for each channel: more formal for a business directory, more personal for a social page. For businesses with several branches we write location-specific text that is accurate for each address and avoids copying; see multi-location SEO. For service lists we write one or two lines per service, with plain names that match the categories chosen; see business category and service configuration. We check readability, spelling and consistency with your name, address and phone details; see business NAP consistency. We send drafts for your review and make changes until the facts are right. We deliver the texts in one document, labelled by platform and length, so that staff can paste them correctly, and we can post them for you; see local citation management. We suggest a yearly review, because services, hours and wording change. We cannot guarantee that platforms will display the whole text or accept every sentence, and edits by others may override yours, but a clear, consistent description helps both people and search engines understand you.
